Getting Started

For beginners, we recommend Umbrella + Spear. Umbrella provides excellent defensive capabilities while you learn enemy patterns, and Spear gives you safe range to attack from. Alternatively, Sword + Spear is the most versatile combination for all content types.

Story mode is perfect for learning mechanics and enjoying the narrative without pressure. Recommended mode offers balanced challenge and is the intended experience for most players. You can change difficulty anytime except for Legends mode, which must be selected at the start and cannot be changed.

Focus on exploration, gather resources, complete side quests, unlock Boundary Stones, practice combat skills, build NPC friendships, or help other players. Use this time to prepare materials and gear for your next level bracket.

Combat

Blocking reduces damage but doesn't negate it completely. Dodging provides invincibility frames when timed correctly. Parrying negates all damage, restores stamina, and creates counterattack opportunities. Perfect Parries (against Red attacks) trigger automatic devastating counters. Parrying is the most powerful defensive mechanic.

White attacks (no glow) can be blocked, parried, or dodged. Red attacks (red glow) cannot be blocked but can be parried for Perfect Parry. Golden attacks (yellow glow) cannot be parried under any circumstances and must be dodged.

Press Tab while attacking to swap weapons mid-combo. This enables devastating combo chains, resource management, and build synergy. Mastering weapon swapping separates good players from great ones. Practice until it becomes muscle memory.

Progression

Due to the daily level cap system (5 levels per day), reaching level 50 takes a minimum of 10 days. This cannot be bypassed. Use extra time each day for gear farming, exploration, and skill development.

Avoid heavily investing in 1-star and 2-star weapons. Use them until you find 3-star or higher replacements. Save rare upgrade materials for 4-star and 5-star weapons that you'll use in endgame.

Prioritize main story quests (highest XP), daily quests, and World Boss participation. When quests are exhausted, farm Oddities and elite enemies. Focus on high-XP activities rather than grinding low-level mobs.

Builds & Gear

Sword + Spear with Harmony gear set. This balanced build works in all situations, has a low learning curve, teaches fundamentals, and remains viable through endgame. Once comfortable, branch into specialized builds.

Very important for endgame. The 4-piece bonuses can provide 20-30% performance increases. Focus on completing a full 4-piece set rather than mixing pieces. Rainwhisper and Swift Gale are top-tier endgame sets.

Yes! You can respec Internal Arts, change weapons anytime, and farm different gear sets. Nothing is permanent except character appearance. Experiment freely to find your preferred playstyle.

Multiplayer

Yes! Over 150 hours of solo content is available. All story content is soloable. However, group content offers better rewards, and some challenges are balanced for teams. Multiplayer is encouraged but not required.

Enemy HP and damage scale based on party size (up to 4 players). Loot is individual, so no competition for drops. XP is shared but not reduced. Co-op makes difficult content easier while maintaining challenge.

Balanced teams need: 1-2 DPS (Dual Blades, Spear), 1 Support (Fan user), 1 Tank/Hybrid (Umbrella user). However, any composition can succeed with skilled players. Communication matters more than perfect team comp.

Technical

For best performance: DirectX 12, Medium-High settings, VSync off, Frame rate capped at your monitor's refresh rate. Adjust based on your hardware. The game is well-optimized and should run smoothly on most systems.

Yes, full controller support for Xbox, PlayStation, and most PC controllers. Controller is recommended for combat due to precise analog movement. Keyboard & mouse works well but requires more setup.

Yes, full cross-play between PC (Steam/Epic) and PlayStation 5. Progress is tied to your account, not platform. Play with friends regardless of platform.
